Chevrolet Corvette convertible. This stunning Corvette comes to us
with only 18,431 actual miles and looks in every way like a barely
used car! It is dressed in its original Torch Red factory paint in
excellent condition with a flawless black convertible top that
looks brand new. The front end of the car has working retractable
halogen headlamps and this was the last year of Corvettes produced
with this cool feature. Both sides of the vehicle are outfitted
with body-color heated exterior mirrors and the optional body-side
molding strip. Adding a real pop to the side view are factory
high-polished aluminum 5-spoke wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1
tires. Through the spokes, you can see red Corvette calipers and
upgraded drilled rotors on all 4 corners. Around back you'll find
that the exhaust has been upgraded to a system by Borla that both
looks and sounds fantastic. Between the 2 chrome Borla tips is a
decorative chrome plate with the cross-flags logo - yet another
nice little extra. A quick peak under the car reveals the spotless
undercarriage of a car that's never seen rain as well as a set of
aftermarket aluminum frame rails with lifting pads to protect your
rocker panels.
Under the forward-opening hood is an incredibly clean engine bay
that is home to a 5.7 liter LS1 V-8 that's factory-rated at 350hp.
This stout V-8 is mated to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic overdrive
transmission that puts the power down via a limited-slip rear
differential with 3.15:1 performance ratio gears. This stellar
drivetrain allows for a full range of driving options - from casual
cruising to exhilarating laps around the track. The underside of
the hood has been upgraded with black matting embossed with a
cross-flags logo and a battery cover with a cross-flags logo has
also been added. Needless to say, you'll always be proud to lift
this hood up and show off this engine bay! Ride quality and safety
are enhanced with an Active Handling System, Traction Control
System, Anti-Lock Brake System, and 4-wheel independent
suspension.
It should come as no surprise that the interior of this Corvette is
every bit as nice as the exterior. Open the door to find a
beautiful Torch Red and black factory interior with a few tasteful
upgrades. The door panels feature power locks, power windows, power
mirrors, and seat memory preset buttons as well as aftermarket
armrest covers with stitched cross-flags logos. Both red leather
sport seats are 6-way power adjustable and they exhibit only the
slightest signs of any use. Separating the seats is a center
console with a storage box/armrest, emergency brake lever, cup
holder, round cross-flags badge, and a shifter for the automatic
transmission with a stitched leather knob. The driver is treated to
a leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt and telescopic
functions. Also on the column are controls for lights, cruise
control, and intermittent wipers. The wheel frames a gently curved
factory gauge cluster with a 200mph speedometer. As soon as you
turn the key you'll notice that this C5 is also equipped with a
"head-up display" on the windshield as well as red under-dash
lighting that pops on immediately (yet another cool extra). Also on
the dash are a driver information center, a dual-zone electronic
climate control system with cold A/C, and a factory Delco AM/FM/CD
stereo system that plays through great-sounding Bose speakers.
Beneath the climate control system on the dash is a flip-up door
that conceals a lighter and removable ashtray. To the face of that
door, an aftermarket information cover plate has been installed
with ratings for horsepower, displacement, torque, and compression
- a cool throwback to some previous generations of Corvette that
displayed that information on the center console. The red carpet
underfoot is in excellent condition and it's kept nice by carpeted
logo floormats. Back in the trunk, you'll find working courtesy
lights, a car cover with a storage bag, an extra set of carpeted
floormats, and an envelope that contains a laminated build sheet
and original window sticker.
