The 1964 Mercury Comet showcased a dramatic redesign with its
smoother flowing lines, sharing a compact unibody platform with the
Ford Falcon. Available in a sporty two-door sedan, a practical
four-door sedan, and a versatile four-door station wagon, the Comet
catered to a diverse group. The Cyclone trim offered exclusively as
a two-door hardtop coupe, represented the pinnacle of performance.
Buyers had the choice between a 170 cu-in inline six-cylinder
engine or the new, thrilling 289 cu-in V8 engine delivering 210
horsepower. Transmission options included two manual choices or the
"Merc-o-Matic" automatic.

power front disc brakes, and upgraded 14-inch Mustang wheels. Other
features include a dash-mounted tachometer, power steering, AM
radio, and a center console with a column-mounted gear selector.

door-activated dome light, a locking glove box, and dual chrome
