International Harvester introduced a new line of trucks, the R
Series in 1953, included in this series was the Travelall. The
Travelall was a long wheelbase panel truck equipped with side
windows and either two or three rows of passenger seats.
Harverster's sport utility vehicle series ran from 1953 to 1975
spanning 4 design generations. The Travelall clearly set the stage
for modern full-sized SUVs as we know them today.
