Description:
This 1964 Dodge Dart 270 two-door sedan was refurbished and
modified under prior ownership, with work involving mini-tubbing
the rear end, installing a 360ci V8 with Edelbrock heads, and
refinishing the car in beige. Additional equipment includes a
rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission, a Holley carburetor, a
dual exhaust with electric cutouts, red cloth and vinyl interior
upholstery, staggered-width chrome Cragar S/S wheels, front disc
brakes, a B&M ratchet shifter, a Pioneer stereo, and an
aftermarket sound system.
Interior:
The cabin was refreshed in June 2014 by Stitch'n by Steve in Queen
Creek, Arizona, and features front and rear bench seats trimmed in
red cloth and vinyl. Equipment includes front seatbelts,
manual-crank windows, front vent windows, a B&M ratchet
shifter, and a Pioneer head unit linked to Alpine speakers and a
trunk-mounted Infinity subwoofer. A Cool Aire air conditioning unit
is retained below the dash, although a compressor is not
present.
Exterior:
Finished from the factory in Ivory (S), the car was repainted in
November 2013 by Linx Auto Body of Apache Junction, Arizona. It is
adorned with chrome bumpers and side trim, "270" C-pillar badging,
a hood scoop, and a driver-side mirror. There is a bubble on the
left quarter panel. The rear wheel wells were mini-tubbed as part
of the build to clear the 295/50R15 rear tires that are mounted on
chrome Cragar S/S wheels. Stopping power is provided by front discs
and rear drums.
Drivetrain:
The 360ci V8 was installed during the build in 2008 and features an
Edelbrock air cleaner, Magnum cylinder heads, and valve covers in
addition to a COMP Cams camshaft, an aluminum radiator, aluminum
rocker arms, a SPAL fan, and MSD ignition. A fuel cell has been
added in the trunk. Details of the work performed may be viewed on
invoices presented in the gallery below.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic
transmission with a manual valve body, and was rebuilt in December
2016. Work in 2024 included installing 3.55:1 ring and pinion
gears. The dual exhaust system comprises long-tube headers, an
H-pipe, electric cutouts, and MangaFlow mufflers.
