Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this absolutely
spectacular 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk 56J with 66,030 original
miles. This Golden Hawk was treated to an extremely high-quality
restoration. The car has a stunning paintjob, brilliantly
refinished chrome, and a beautiful interior and top. The car is
finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of
Snowcap White over Sunglow Gold with a 2-tone beige and white
interior.
This Golden Hawk comes with a massive amount of documentation.
Pictured in this ad are five large binders that come with the car.
There are hundreds of receipts and records from the restoration and
for work done to the car over the years. The receipts show that
over $50,000 have been spent on the car. Much of the restoration
work was started in the early 2000's and includes an engine rebuild
showing that it was bored .40 over, transmission rebuild, new
paint, new interior upholstery, chrome, suspension, and much much
more. The previous owner that did the restoration kept very copious
and well-organized notes, records, and correspondence with vendors
and repair shops.
There is a photo of the body plate in this ad. It reads: 56J K7
1660. The "56" is the model year, 1956. The "J" is the engine,
correct for the Packard 352 cubic inch V8 engine. The "K" is the
body style, hardtop coupe. The "7" is a code used for the 1956-58
Golden Hawk. The "1660" is the body sequence number.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a very rare and highly
desirable classic Studebaker. 1956 is a very special and highly
sought after model as 1956 is the only year where the Hawk was
produced with the highly desirable 352ci Packard Sky Power engine.
Only 4,071 Golden Hawk s were made for 1956. The market on 1950's
Studebakers is hot right now, especially for premium examples like
this car. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more
than the purchase price in years to come. There is no way someone
could purchase a similar Studebaker and restore it to this level of
quality for anything near our asking price. The low original
mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also
the clear Ohio title that shows the mileage as "Actual." Please
peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get
a true sense of how exceptionally nice this Studebaker really
is.
As a side note, this Golden Hawk is not a dealer auction vehicle.
We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Classics come
from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give
the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Studebaker, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Snowcap White and Sunglow Gold exterior is in fantastic
condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling
gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The wheels and hubcaps are in
excellent condition with a nice finish and no curb rash. The Coker
Classic wide whitewall tires are sized 215/75R15 and have been used
minimally since the restoration. Please note that the tires have
the correct vintage and period correct look, but they are radials
for a much better driving experience. The chrome looks spectacular
and has a brilliant finish. This Golden Hawk has no rust issues. As
one can see in the many photos of the underside, this Studebaker is
totally solid and very clean underneath.
This Golden Hawk looks just as good in person as it does in the
photos.
Interior
The 2-tone interior of the Studebaker looks splendid. The seats are
in excellent condition with no split seams, rips, or excessive
wear. The carpet is also in great condition with no stains, rips,
or holes. The interior chrome and bright work is also in great
shape. The dash is in terrific condition with no cracks, fading, or
sun damage. The original AM radio lights up, but does not play
sound. Most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for
an aftermarket installation. The door panels look excellent. The
package tray is in great shape and is not warped. This car has not
been smoked in; there are obviously no burn marks or aroma of
cigarettes what-so-ever.
The trunk is very clean, highly detailed, well-trimmed, and has the
matching full size spare tire and matching rim.
The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the
photos.
Mechanical
This Studebaker Golden Hawk seems to be in good mechanical
condition. The rebuilt 352ci V8 engine starts every time, runs
well, and idles smooth. The car drives nicely and just floats down
the road. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating
on the highway up to about 70mph, braking to stoplight, and going
through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and
the car performs quite well overall. The brakes do not pull to one
side or the other. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully
clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos with the
correct and original air cleaner and valve covers.
The headlights work as do the brights, interior lights, indicators,
blower for the heater, horn, defroster, and wipers. Even detailed
items like the glove box light still work. All of the gauges work
with the obvious exception of the clock. Not enough can be said as
to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this Studebaker.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk is in marvelous
condition. This is truly an investment grade classic. As stated
above, there is absolutely no way someone could restore a
Studebaker to anywhere near this level for any amount near our
asking price.
The excellent restoration, the great attention to detail, and the
beautiful color combination make this car especially important and
difficult to duplicate. This Studebaker always gets a ton of
attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the
vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. One
could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for
more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please email or call with any
