For Sale: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

The colors are incredible! It means business with a factory air grabber, 4-speed and performance axle package. It was born like you see it right down to the Magnum wheels, documented with original build sheet and fender tag. Vin # matching motor and trans. Black paint with white interior adds 20%, if it were a 67 big block Vette the colors would add $200,000!

EXTERIOR: Repainted its factory Black Velvet color without a vinyl top. This is an older paint job that is far from perfect. It was just wet sanded and polished, so it has a glossy finish. The red grills on the hood look great and indicates they are functional, black grills indicate they are just for looks. The bumpers have been rechromed, the grill and taillights are very good. The windshield looks new. The 15 inch Magnum 500 wheels with BFG radial redline tires look amazing on this car!

INTERIOR: Factory born white bucket seat interior. It is very nice inside this one. Rare bucket seats, most Road Runners have bench seats. The seats have been recushioned and upholstered, new headrests. The door panels and armrests were replaced, and the metal was repainted. The headliner and visors were replaced. The carpet looks new, and the 4-speed shifter, ball and boot are stock. The dash area is all original and not beat up, cut, or cracked. It has a factory tachometer that works, the red knob to open the air grabber, reverse light indicator and the factory radio fits real nicely. There is a stereo in the glovebox with 6x9s in back and stereo dash speakers. It has a complete set of seatbelts. Inside this car is very nice except the original steering wheel has some cracks.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is the original VIN # matching motor born with this car. It is stock except for Hooker headers. On top is the N96 air grabber system it was born with, very desirable. The motor runs strong and has a nice sounding idle, it has a hotter cam. The cooling system has correct shroud, Mopar radiator, reproduction hoses and clamps. It also has a reproduction battery which is properly secured. All the components look proper and clean, the squirters are hooked up and of course the horn goes "beep beep"! The engine bay is painted black, the hidden vin matches the car, and the original fender tag is still attached.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted glossy. It is solid and has a reproduction mat. The spare is a poly glass tire.

UNDERSIDE: The steering and suspension has been maintained as needed. Upgraded with air shocks in back. It does have a custom exhaust with an X-Pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. The floors appear to be original and very solid, it has welded in frame connectors to keep the unibody from twisting. The fuel tank has been replaced. Looking up at the motor it is clean and has a extra capacity oil pan and a high torque starter. The trans is a VIN number matching 833 4-speed, the driveshaft has been rebuilt. It was ordered with the performance axle package which includes a heavy duty 8 3/4 rear end with 3.55 sure grip gears and 11-in rear drum brakes.

SERVICE: Our shop inspected the car and we replaced the spark plug wires, adjusted the idle and the timing. We replaced the reverse switch, turn signal switch, tuned the beep beep horn and repaired a window bracket.

This is one of the best looking Road Runners on the planet! It runs runs strong too. It's a pure pleasure to drive shifting those gears, hearing the perfect sound and you know everyone is looking and admiring. Being #s match and documented makes it a genuine collectable.
