Hagerty’s valuation of a 1963 VW Beetle with sliding roof in excellent condition is around $45,000, and for concourse $75,000. What you’re seeing here are the ‘now’ photos before we get started of an all-original matching car. When we get done, it will be well on its way to ‘concourse’ with all new or rebuilt everything, and for sure be a show car like the samples of our prior projects included in the photos.

Why am I advertising this VW now as a project before we begin? Because I prefer to build it for someone, not just complete it and then find a buyer. You may not want it black or want other modifications. or personal details. So how about doing it like this? Let’s put a value of $40,000.00 on the finished product for now. We begin with 1/4 down for which we disassemble it, get the motor and trans out for rebuild, do all the body and paint prep work, get the seats out to be reupholstered, and the sunroof prepared for its new top. The next 1/4 comes after the body is painted and the inside is prepared. The next ¼ comes after the VW is reassembled and interior done, new carpets, panels, top, dash items, and the motor and trans installed and the car running.
The last payment will be adjusted up or down based on a mutually accepted 3rd party certified appraisal when it is done. But if this is an issue, we can set a price for the whole project before we start and work out a different payment schedule, I can send you the title on receipt of your deposit.
