1956 Chevy Cameo Pick-up The Cameo -ton Suburban pickup continued
as a limited-production model. This high-style truck, Fisher Body
style number 3124, was based on the 3000 chassis with a 114-in.
wheelbase. It had the same basic styling changes as other models.
Special features included slab-sided rear fender skins made of
fiberglass bolted onto a standard cargo box to bring the rear body
width flush with the sides of the standard cap. Chrome moldings
trimmed the gap between the cap and the box. This 1956 Cameo shows
well and is an excellent driver. Power is derived from the
venerable 265 CI V-8 mated to a GM Hydro-Matic four-speed automatic
transmission and its got considerable power and performance,
especially for a small block. Restoration was done some time ago
and still presents well. Many, many new components including new
wood bed, new exhaust, new shocks, brakes hoses in master cylinder
are relatively new as well. This is a turnkey truck, meaning
everything is operational and functioning as it should. Lights,
wipers, horn, heater, all good to go .riding on a set of Firestone
deluxe wide whites with stock wheels and original style wheel
covers.
