Chevrolet K2500. This truck comes to us today with only 50,412
miles on the odometer and good looks to spare! It is dressed in an
eye-catching two-tone driver-quality red and black paint job with
orange pinstripe accents. Up front, a black egg-crate grille
separated by bright horizontal bars is flanked by rectangular
headlights. Beneath is a bright chrome bumper and a black chin
spoiler with tow hooks. The cab is topped off in the front by a
black sunvisor with a light kit that's not just functional, it
looks cool too. Some bright elements pop on the sides of the truck
including wheel lip molding, body side molding, dual side mirrors,
and diamond-plate bed rails and toolbox (a nice extra!). Windows
are lightly tinted and the rear window is a 4-piece slider.
Silverado badges adorn both B-pillars and 4X4 decals can be found
on both sides of the bed toward the rear. Around the back, you'll
find an 8-foot spray-lined bed in good condition, a silver band
across the tailgate with "CHEVROLET" lettering, a rubber-topped
chrome bumper, and a tow hitch receiver. A spare tire is mounted
under the back of the bed. Speaking of tires, this truck rides down
the road on a good-looking set of chrome American Racing Wheels
wrapped in a set of Michelin LTX A/T tires - a perfect complement
to the style of this OBS Chevy!
Under the hood in a clean engine bay is what we believe to be the
original 5.7 liter V-8. The engine is topped off with black valve
covers, electronic fuel injection, and an Airaid air cleaner and
intake system. Other highlights include power steering, a Harrison
A/C compressor that produces nice cold air, power brakes (front
disc, rear drum), and a working under-hood courtesy light. Exhaust
flows through Gibson headers and a single muffler to exit at the
passenger-side rear with a pleasing rumble. The V-8 is mated to a
4-speed automatic overdrive transmission with working
"shift-on-the-fly" 4-wheel drive. With this drivetrain, this K2500
is ready for any driving situation at any time!
The interior of this Chevy is everything you'd expect from a
50,000-mile car plus a couple of unexpected extras! When you open
the door, both overhead and under-dash courtesy lights come on to
light up a stock-looking red and burgundy interior. The OEM door
panels are in very good condition and feature power windows and
locks. The manually adjustable 60/40 two-tone velour bench seat is
in great shape with no stains, rips, or tears and only very minor
signs of wear. The red carpet looks exceptionally nice and it's
kept that way with rubber GM floormats. Also on the floor is the
shifter for the 4-wheel drive. The crack-free maroon dash houses
working factory gauges for temp, oil, fuel, and battery. Please
note that the gear shift indicator on the dash is not operable,
though that has no effect on putting the truck in gear and driving.
Mounted atop the dash to the driver's left (next to the A-pillar)
is an aftermarket tachometer for keeping a closer eye on things.
The climate controls couldn't be easier to use and they pump out
cold A/C and hot heat with a strong fan on demand. To the right of
those controls is an aftermarket Sony AM/FM/CD stereo that is
hooked up to an Optimus 260-watt power amp and two MTX speaker
boxes that are behind the beach seat (a great sounding system and
quite the bonus!). In the area beneath the stereo is a pull-out cup
holder for two. Mounted under the dash to the right of the driver
is a CB radio that powers up and seems operable, but we've been
unable to make it produce sound. Directly ahead of the driver is a
black 4-spoke OEM steering wheel with a working horn on a tilt
column that also offers controls for cruise control and
intermittent wipers. Overhead is a red felt headliner that is
beginning to sag.
If you're an OBS fan or just someone looking for a quality truck,
this 91 Chevy K2500 is definitely worth the look! This truck offers
tons of bang for the buck - 4,000 lb towing capacity, 8-foot spray
lined bed, toolbox, 4-wheel drive, automatic overdrive
transmission, V-8 power, great color combo, very nice interior,
cold A/C, killer stereo, and only 50,412 actual miles! It would be
hard to find one as nice and well-equipped for the money, that's
