Ever since the first production cars hit the streets, owners and
enthusiasts have been modifying their vehicles to set them apart
from the other vehicles on the street. This eventually led to the
custom and hot rod culture that was very prevalent in the 1950's
car community. This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Pick-up is an excellent
example of a 50's custom inspired hot rod pickup. This Chevrolet
3100 has undergone an extensive frame-off restoration, receiving a
plethora of custom touches that have transformed it into the
beautiful hot rod pickup that it is today. The restoration on this
3100 pickup is roughly 8 years old and still presents very well
overall. The custom Torch Red and Satin Black exterior is in very
good condition with only minor age present in the paint. The
exterior of the truck has received a number of custom touches
including: nosed hood, shaved doors, 4" chopped roof, smoothed
tailgate, shaved drip rails, filled bed rail ends and frenched
headlights. The exterior of this Chevrolet Pickup is nicely
complimented by custom, hand laid pinstriping throughout and
factory style steel wheels with chrome beauty rings and Shannon
cone center caps wrapped in Coker wide-whitewall tires. The custom
Red and Black interior of this beautiful Chevrolet pickup is in
excellent condition throughout and features a number of custom
modifications including: tall Genie automatic shifter, custom
molded dash with digital Classic Instrument gauges, custom vinyl
bench seat, custom vinyl door panels, custom headliner, and 1959
Impala steering wheel. Powering this hot rod Chevrolet Pickup is a
355 cubic inch 4-bolt main small block V8 that has been nicely
modified with aluminum Patriot heads, Comp Cams Thumper Camshaft,
Edelbrock 550 cfm carburetor, and Weiand intake manifold.
Transferring power to the GM 12-bolt positraction rearend, with
3.73:1 final drive, is a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed automatic
transmission. Both the engine and transmission perform just as they
should and have no problem setting you back in your seat when you
put the pedal down. This awesome Chevrolet 3100 is nicely equipped
with options such as: power steering, power front disc brakes,
Vintage Air brand heater and defrost, Classic Industries digital
gauges w/ GPS speedometer, electronic door poppers, electronic
variable speed wipers, Ididit tilt steering column, tinted glass
and in-dash tachometer. If you are in the market for an excellent,
one-of-a-kind custom classic pickup that is turn-key ready to enjoy
and would present very well at your local cruise-in or car show,
then you will want to take a very close look at this gorgeous 1951
Chevrolet 3100 hot rod pickup.
