Vehicle Description
Did you own a Toyota MR2 in high school, college or even after
graduating from college and did you always wish you could have
traded up to the turbocharged model?
Here's your second chance with this '95 MR2. While it is mostly the
non-aspirated model, the most important change is the behind the
driver - the standard 2.2L engine has been swapped with a 2.0L
inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine installed by Toy-Auto
Masters in Englewood, Colorado in 2010.
This example was made in October 1994 at Toyota's Sagamihara,
Kanagawa factory in Japan.
The car's paint and trim are in overall very good order as it was
garage-kept but it does have a few blemishes visible at close
range. The engine bay is very tidy while the cargo hold is clean.
The car's body-colored bumper fit tightly to the body. This model
is equipped with a T-bar roof, removable glass panels and inside
sun covers.
This car rolls on Falken Ziek radials, size 195/55R15 in front and
225/50R15 in rear. Each one is mounted to a factory alloy wheel.
The four tires are in good, original order while the wheels look
great. There's a spare tire and wheel in the front truck
(frunk).
Out back under the vented hood is the car's transplanted heart, a
2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder (code 3S-GTE) engine with a rebuilt
turbocharger. Mechanical differences on the Turbo models
include:
3S-GTE engine with associated air-to-air intercooler and different
exhaust configuration
Stronger and heavier E153 gearbox with different ratios and
stronger axles
Larger fuel pump and radiator
Models with 3S-GE and 3S-GTE engines had twin-piston front brake
calipers
Backing up this engine is a five-speed manual. Driver convenience
features include air-conditioning, power rack-and-pinion steering,
power four-wheel disc brakes with new pads and rotors, cruise
control, power windows, power locks and power sideview mirrors,
remote frunklid and fuel filler door releases
Safety equipment includes dual front airbags and anti-lock brakes.
The car also has an alarm system but it is inoperable.
Inside, the car's tan leather interior (code LA02) looks great
thanks to new leather bucket seats. The carpet and floormats are in
good order. There's a four-spoke steering wheel, a black dashboard
and center console complete with shifter and passenger-side parking
brake and they are all in great condition. The inner door panels
continue the black-and-tan theme and also look good. A factory
AM/FM stereo with a cassette deck rounds out the interior.
Competition to this MR2 in 1995 included Chevrolet's Cavalier,
Honda's Prelude, Nissan's 200SX and Pontiac's new-for-1995
Sunfire.
This MR2 is only just now broken in and the engine swap gives the
car a new lease on life; are you interested in being its next owner
