This body off frame restored, #s matching 442 is loaded with
options! It's almost too good to be true considering the factory
colors and all the options in such a rare convertible. It was a
part of the Spagnoli collection, one of the best collections of
442s ever assembled.

EXTERIOR: Claimed to have its original metal. It is clean, straight
and fits nice. Repainted in its original Target Red with a smooth,
glossy finish. The chrome and trim is straight and sparkles. It has
correct T-3 headlamps. The power convertible top is white and in
excellent shape. The weatherstrips were replaced. It's sitting very
proud and a set of Hurst wheels, I assume they are reproduction
which are still very hard to come by and no longer made. They are
wrapped in radial red line BFGoodrich tires.
INTERIOR: Factory born white interior that looks cool and stays
cool in the sun. Reproduction upholstery, door panels and carpet.
The dash area is in very good original condition. The console has a
factory tachometer, and the shifter says 442 right on it! The power
seat is not working, it operates manually. The power windows,
trunk, antenna, and top do work. It also has a tilt wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is restored just like it left the factory.
At the heart of it is the correct #s 400 making 345 horsepower. It
is all stock: manifolds, valve covers and chrome air cleaner. All
the components look proper and fresh. It has power brakes with a
cadmium plated booster, power steering and it has factory air
conditioning system that was just serviced. It has correct hoses
and reproduction clamps. The windshield squirters are hooked, it
has hood insulation, the battery is properly secured and has spring
clamp cables.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid, the jamb and the entire
inside of the trunk is painted gloss red. It has reproduction
weatherstrip, well liner and trunk mat. I was very pleasantly
surprised to see a 5th matching Hurst wheel with a radial red line
tire, it also has the jack assembly. It has an optional trunk light
that works and a power trunk release.
UNDERSIDE: It was body off frame restored to factory specs about 16
years ago. It has the rally suspension which includes a rear
swaybar and boxed control arms. The suspension was rebuilt and has
correct spiral shocks. The dual exhaust looks fresh. The fuel
system was replaced. The brake system was completely rebuilt, lines
were replaced, and the e-brake is hooked up. Looking up at the
motor it is clean, starter looks fresh. The Muncie 4-speed has
correct casting codes and the date matches this car. The floors are
immaculate original metal painted semi-gloss black.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and serviced the a/c with new POA
valve, expansion valve, a relay and charged with Freon. We replaced
the high-speed blower relay, license plate light, regulator and a
window roller. We adjusted the windows.
CONCLUSION: A 1965 442 convertible is very rare as it is, to find
one with all of these features in these colors is nothing short of
amazing! To be factory correct with the right #s and codes makes it
an investment. Very collectable, proof of that being it was in the
most prestigious Oldsmobile collection I've ever seen!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
