Vehicle Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was custom-restored with an almost
a brand-new 454ci V8 engine mated to TH400 automatic transmission
with a Gear Vendors under/overdrive Powerglide, which makes it a
6-speed automatic or manual foot-pedal shifting, and a Currie Ford
9-inch rear end, with approximately 1,000 miles on the updated
drivetrain and less than 3,000 actual miles. The engine is
Chevrolet Performance's most economical big-block crate engine with
a cast-iron cylinder block, 4-bolt mains, and forged steel rods and
crankshaft. It also features hydraulic roller-style camshaft with
.510-inch/.540 lift, forged aluminum pistons. The engine breathes
out of ceramic-coated Hooker competition headers with a 3-inch
ceramic exhaust. Stopping power is provide by LEED chrome brake
master cylinder and brake booster combos, as well as Wilwood disc
brakes with a rear parking brake. It is also equipped with a chrome
high-amp alternator, a Vintage Air system hidden behind the dash
and firewall, power steering, oversized radiator, Edelbrock 8854
Victor Series aluminum high-performance water pumps and a Chevrolet
Performance intake manifold. It sits on a high-performance Hotchkis
sport suspension 1901R lowering coil springs, coilover front shocks
and 4-link rear, and 16- and 18-inch Billet Specialties Fast Lane
wheels. This car is finished in a Viper Red paint over a new black
interior with a horseshoe shifter, Ididit tilt column, Flaming
River wheel, and a custom stereo. This car was stored in an
air-conditioned building with a full-time mechanic who took the car
out for a 5-mile test drive once a month.
