Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to offer this
one owner 1979 Ford F150. The sixth-generation Ford F-Series was
introduced for the 1973 model year. Known by enthusiasts as the
"Dentside," the F150 model series, which was new for the 1975 model
year, was introduced to bridge the gap between the F100 and the
F250. With a new paint job in 1990 with the original colors of Dark
Jade Metallic and light sand, this truck still looks factory fresh.
Under the hood is something you don't see every day, a 460CID V-8
that has a propane conversion. This motor was rebuilt around 12k
miles ago in 2015 and received some upgrades in the form of being
bored .030 over, new valve springs, Comp Cams, long tube headers
with Magnaflow dual exhaust. Helping all this power get to the
ground is a C6 automatic transmission that has extra clutch plates
and a shift kit as well as a gear vendors over drive and four-wheel
drive. With a combined total of 48 gallons of gasoline and 80
gallons of propane on board this truck is meant for the long hauls.
Additional drivetrain modifications include rear suspension
overload springs for those heavy loads and the upgrade to rear disc
brakes. The cabin features a bench seat that was redone in 1990 and
is upholstered in tan cloth along with the original dash and door
panels in coordinating colors. Features include cold blowing air
conditioning, an AM/FM/Cassette radio, new carpet, and a Midland CB
radio. The two-spoke steering wheel with wood accents frames an
85-mph speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant
temperature, battery voltage and oil pressure. Big, fun, and very
clean, this Ford 4x4 is the truck you always saw on the road after
it was too late. Don't miss this chance to get one in the renewed
prime of its life.
