Perhaps the most visually distinctive model year of the second generation (C2) Corvette due to its split rear window, the 1963 Corvette holds a special place in the model’s history for the simple fact that it was such an upgrade over the original car. A completely new design now available as a coupe, hidden headlamps, and, perhaps even more importantly, an independent suspension on a shortened wheelbase. As ever, buyers had the choice to order their car in specifications that ranged from deluxe tourer with an automatic transmission, air conditioning, and power steering or track monster with special suspension and brake upgrades or, especially rare, the Z06 package.

While later models introduced ever-larger engines, the 1963 model was solely available with a 327ci producing between 250 and 360hp depending on tune. One could specify a two-speed Powerglide automatic or a three- or four-speed manual depending on their needs. 21,513 were sold, split nearly evenly between body styles. This number represents a nearly fifty percent increase over the 1962 model, a fact that proved the car’s renewed focus on performance was exactly what buyers wanted. Today, the one-year-only split-window 1963 Corvettes are some of the more desirable examples from the model’s second generation.

The superb 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 327/300hp 'Split-Window' Coupe featured here is finished in gorgeous Ermine White over a Black interior. This original California car was just released from its first and only owner after nearly six decades. With a show-quality restoration completed in 2023, this exquisite Corvette is ready to be shown or driven. With only 278 fitted with factory air conditioning and a 300 horsepower V8, this is the perfect Corvette to add to any premier collection. We are proud to offer what we believe to be one of the very best 'Split-Window' coupes to be found on the market today to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best at an investment price.
