The white exterior is accompanied by the salad spinner' rims as
well as dual red stripes on the long hood. The interior shows
beautifully with a red on black combination, red leather bucket
seats, red carpet, and a black center console and dashboard. The
dash is equipped with digital gauges to show the driver oil
pressure, coolant temperature, fuel range, speed and RPM's. All of
these gauges are customizable using switches located to the right
of the steering wheel to display what information the driver wants
to see. The primary design emphasis at launch was therefore focused
on handling and braking, with an all-independent light-weight
suspension and wheels and all new brakes with aluminum calipers.
The C4 did not use separate body-on-frame construction like its
predecessors. Instead, it used what GM termed a ''uniframe'', which
consisted of a traditional perimeter frame, with the door posts,
windshield frame, halo U-shaped frame overhead behind the seats and
the rear portion of the floor pan integrated into one welded
assembly. Under the lightweight hood is a 5.7L V8 engine paired to
a 4-speed automatic transmission which produced about 250HP which
was stout for the model year. Other features this Corvette has are
a leather wrapped steering wheel, dual rear lockable storage
compartments, ABS, 4-wheel power disc brakes, Delco AM/FM radio,
and air conditioning. This Corvette retains a clean Carfax with no
