1981 Firebird Ground-Up Restoration! High Performance Restomod
Outstanding
This 1981 Firebird is a "ground-up" restored restomod that has been
meticulously restored and upgraded with top-of-the-line components.
It is powered by a 388 aluminum head stroker engine with Eagle
internals and balanced by Kevin Pranger at Great Lakes Engines. The
transmission is a 700r4 built by Bruce at The Trans Shop, and the
rear end is a DTS built 10 bolt with 4:88 gears and aluminum
girdle. Fuel injection is handled by a Holley Sniper system, and
the engine is tuned by Power Dynamics. The car also features a 3
row aluminum radiator with dual 12" electric fans.
The brakes are 4 wheel Wilwood vented disc brakes, and the exhaust
is a mandrel bent dual exhaust with Flowmasters on Hedman big tube
headers.
The exterior of the car is painted in a custom grey with gold flake
paint and hot rod black and orange accents. The underside of the
car is painted in black rust resistant paint and has been
rustproofed.
The suspension has been upgraded with urethane suspension bushings,
new shocks, frame connectors, and rebuilt leaf springs. All new
brake lines have been installed, as well as AN- fuel and
transmission lines. The battery is trunk mounted in an aluminum
battery box.
The interior of the car features Corbeau seats with a 5 point
harness. The car also has a 6 point cage painted to match the car,
a detachable steering wheel with column painted to match the car, a
digital dash, and an Alpine stereo with Rockford Fosgate
speakers.
Everything in the car is new or rebuilt/restored. The car drives
like a dream and is super comfortable. It has been referred to as
"better than new".
