History
1969 Camaro Z/28
Cortez Silver/ Dark Blue Rare Color Combination
Certified by Jerry MacNeish in Jan 2020 A unrestored survivor in need of full restoration. Jerry McNeish certified the following Original factory installed Engine, Transmission, and Rear Axle.
Purchased in Iowa where the restoration was started in late 2020. Rotisserie restoration of exterior body, Floors, Engine Compartment and Refinished in Cortez Silver with Black Stripes completed in 2021.
Feb 2021 this z/28 was purchased In Iowa with the exterior paint and stripes completed in need of component restoration. Restored with the specific intent of taking the car to both Bloomington Gold and Camaro Nationals Legends Judging in 2022 A detailed the restoration accordingly with all the correct components and date codes associated and matching to the build date of the car.
Approx 243,000 Camaros were built in 1969 and as such, the parts and components had a very tight date code configuration whereas almost all the dated components were within a 2-3-week prior period of the build date and this is what Legends Judging is looking for at that level of judging, hence a great attention to detail went into this car assuring the accuracy of components and the date codes aligned with the build date, as noted on Jerry's report.
The Z/28 was judged Gold at Bloomington Gold 2022 with the 3 judges (from Camaro National Team) going over the car with a fine-tooth comb because they were also evaluating it for Camaro Nationals sign off. Instead of the typical 40-minute Bloomington Gold judging, they took 2 hours going over the car.
Subsequently, Jerry MacNeish has performed a thorough detailed inspection of this car in preparation for Legends judging in the future.

A Rare color combination Z/28 Original born with driveline that has been near flawlessly restored to original condition including almost all components on the car matching the build date sequence date specification of production, as noted on the report, in anticipation of Legends Judging at the Camaro Nationals. Only 8% of all Camaros were Cortez Silver and only 10% of all Camaros had Dark Blue interior so mathematically summation is approx. less than 200 Z's were built with this color combo. (No hard data exists that links exterior color to interior colors).
