Vehicle Description
The 1953 Buick Skylark convertible has been restored and is powered
by a naturally aspirated 322ci 5.3-liter Fireball V8 engine rated
at 188hp, paired with a twin-turbine Dynaflow automatic
transmission. It's finished in Osage Cream with a power-operated
black convertible soft-top. The exterior features the Continental
kit with a rear-mounted full-size spare tire with cover, along with
chrome accents, fender welts, highlighted white wheel wells and
chrome 40-spoke wire wheels wrapped in whitewall tires. The
interior is finished in black and white with front and rear leather
bench seats and a factory gold-anodized steering wheel center
engraved with "Customized for Judy Hicks" for the original owner.
Additional features include a heater, defroster, air vents, power
brakes, power steering, full power windows and Selectronic AM
radio. This was essentially a hand-built specialty based on the
premium series Buick Roadmaster and built to celebrate General
Motors and Buick's 50th anniversary, with just 1,640 cars produced
for the model year. The car debuted at GM's futuristic Motorama
show with a starting price of $4,596 and more standard equipment
beyond anything offered by Buick previously. ** PREVIEW
