The Triumph TR3A was intended to instill fun into the motoring
experience. The very nature of this Triumph's performance rendered
it a perfect British sports car - ideal for fun and rallying. The
2138cc 4-cylinder engine output 100hp and was able to push the TR3A
to speeds in excess of 100mph. This spectacular 1959 Triumph TR3A
has been a prized possession of the current owner for over 40 years
and was the beneficiary of a total frame-off restoration completed
in 2022. The handsome body was beautifully refinished in 3-stage
Pearl White and all chrome is outstanding. A new set of 15"
Panasport 'MiniLite' wheels mount fresh Nexen radials. The interior
was completely redone and stately red leather upholstery is
stunning. Door panels, carpets and trim are excellent. There is a
classic 'banjo' wheel and the dash is fitted with refreshed Jaeger
gauges (MPH speedo). A new soft top/side curtains snap in place
perfectly. The immaculate engine compartment is home to the
original 4-cylinder engine that has been rebuilt. The factory
cylinder liners were removed and larger bore TR4 liners were
pressed in. This enabled the use of 86mm pistons that increased the
displacement to 2138cc and horsepower to 105hp. The engine is
equipped with dual side-draft carbs, an electronic ignition and
aluminum radiator/electric fan. A negative ground alternator-based
electrical system has been installed along with a gear-reduction
starter. The powerplant is backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox. This
stunning TR3A roadster is virtually better than new and comes with
an Owner's Manual and vintage '59 license plate. It does the famous
Triumph brand proud and will not be here long - move post-haste.
