Vehicle Description
1956 was a great year for Ford, and looking at this nicely-styled
1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan, it is easy to see why. During the
early 1950s, while the Ford models certainly sold well and provided
strong value, styling was quite conservative and the flathead V-8
reached its development peak. Clearly a dose of innovation was in
order. Following the introduction of the all-new Y-Block V-8 engine
for 1954, the 1955 Ford models were completely redesigned with
longer, lower and wider bodies, two-tone paint finishes,
distinctive brightwork, and striking interiors. Along with a mild
restyle for 1956, other changes included Ford's new Lifeguard
Design safety features, which was comprised of dished steering
wheels, improved door latches, and breakaway rearview mirrors.

This classic Ford is finished in two-tone Fiesta Red and Colonial
White, the perfect color scheme for a 1950's cruiser and also the
same colors this came in from the factory. The sparkling chrome
bumpers and many pieces of bright trim and moldings reflect
beautifully against the glossy paint finish. A set of old-school
chrome-reverse wheels with moon caps wrapped with 215/70R15 black
radial tires enhance the nostalgic look of this vintage
Fairlane.
The interior is in great shape and has been completely
reupholstered in comfortable red cloth material. A handy removable
armrest with cup holders upholstered in red vinyl is also included.
The dash, steering wheel, radio and gauges are still original to
the car.
Under the hood is a smooth-running 312 cubic inch V-8 mated to a
Ford-O-Matic transmission. The engine features a 4-barrel
carburetor, chrome open-element air cleaner and an upgraded
aluminum radiator with electric fan. The engine breathes out
through a dual exhaust system equipped with burbling glass-pack
style mufflers and exits through exhausts ports in the rear
bumper.
