Vehicle Description
This refurbished and modified 1961 Volkswagen Beetle custom sliding
ragtop is powered by a replacement 1.6-liter flat-4 engine paired
with a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine features an
electronic ignition and an aftermarket exhaust system as an
addition to the engine. Body modifications included removing the
fenders, custom headlights and taillights, extending the front
axle, adding 15-inch steel wheels and a cloth sunroof, and lowering
the car. Braking is handled by four drum brakes, which work well
with the weight of this car. Finished in brown, the orange vinyl
interior has color-coordinated door panels and dashboard, a custom
roll cage, Hurst shifter, fire extinguisher and Bluetooth-capable
speakers. The rear seats have been removed and wood slats have been
installed over new carpet. Recent maintenance included new axle
boots, valve gaskets, plugs and sump plate, as well as a Ross Wulf
billet distributor hold-down, new fuel feed hose and fittings, four
new Excelsior tires, a Bilstein link and king pin rebuild for the
front end and a transmission rebuild. In addition, the outer tie
rod was replaced, the drums and brakes were redone, and the wiring
was inspected. ** PREVIEW
