Seven years after production began, Jaguar was forced to make major updates to the E-Type to meet ever-more stringent emissions and safety requirements in the United States. The Series II, as it would be known, was therefore a fairly major departure from the original car. While it would have been understandable for them to shut down production as the factory was retooled, Jaguar decided to introduce a "transitional" series. Commonly referred to as the "Series I.5" by enthusiasts, these cars showcase a blend of Series 1 and 2 equipment.

The magnificent 1968 Jaguar E-type Series I.5 4.2 Roadster featured here is finished in striking Midnight Blue over Light Tan Connolly leather and a Dark Blue folding convertible top along with a matching removable hardtop. This exquisite motorcar was subject to a no-expense-spared, nut-and-bolt restoration by marque experts and is, we believe, among one of the finest examples to be found anywhere in the world.

In addition to what has been reported to have been nearly $250,000 spent on the restoration, the car also benefits from improvements totaling over $32,000 performed over 2022-2023 by Winning Classics and XKS Motorsport in San Luis Obispo, California. Of those, some of the most notable include upgraded engine mounts, a stainless-steel exhaust, Koni shock absorbers, and an Aurora Design push-button radio. All told, this Jaguar offers Series I looks with select improvements, ensuring it is a joy to drive and show. Because of its phenomenal condition and rarity, I personally believe the investment potential of this British classic will grow beyond your imagination. We proudly offer this remarkable E-Type to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best at an investment price.
