Vehicle Description
This 1966 Cadillac Coupe De Ville custom EV convertible, dubbed
"dEVille," is powered by a 394hp 292.5-kilowatt electric motor with
1,000 ft/lbs of torque, mated to a 1-speed automatic transmission.
It was built for SEMA 2021 by Legacy EV in Tempe, AZ. A modern
twist on a vintage Cadillac, this "Electro-Mod" took over eight
months to build but retains almost all the original exterior and
interior styling. An NMC 55-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack
powers three inline HyPer9 Motors featuring a Synchronous
Reluctance Internal Permanent Magnet Motor (SRIPM) controlled by
SmartView motor software. The HyPer9 has a power-to-weight ratio of
0.73 kilowatts per pound, or 0.97hp per pound - more than any other
motor in its class - and boasts a 95% efficiency. "dEVille" retains
its stock chassis, control arms and spindle, but includes upgraded
front disc brakes mounted under 20-inch EVOD wheels. Legacy EV
provided the lift/lowering kit and an air management system by Air
Lift. The exterior is painted Bright White by Burges Customs and
features custom LED headlights and taillights, as well as rubber
moldings by Caddy Daddy and a white convertible top. The all-red
interior includes custom door panels with an updated digital stereo
system, custom Dakota Digital gauges and a steering wheel by
PearlCraft. ** PREVIEW
