Only 1,284 miles since a body off frame restoration! This is an
exceptional car; I just did my inspection, and I am impressed. It
is detailed, straight and put together right in every area.
EXTERIOR: What a beauty! I'm looking at this thing outside in the
sunlight and can see the sparkle in the Black Cherry paint. The
body is excellent, it is smooth right down to the rockers. Looking
down each side it is straight, the body panels fit real nicely. It
has an actual functioning cowl hood with the flapper door. It is
polished smooth and glossy; the white SS stripes are correctly
applied and are smooth to the touch. Up front the marker lights,
bumper, grill, bezels all look like new. It even has reproduction
T-3 headlights. The mirrors, door handles, all the stainless trim
also looks new. In back it has new taillight lenses, bumper, and
the correct SS pad. The black vinyl top is new too. I open the
doors to see polished jambs, new weatherstrips, window seals and
sill plates. We installed new BFG tires and 15x7 SS wheels.
INTERIOR: Now I'm sitting in the car, and it is restored from
carpet to headliner. Down on the floor it has SS embroidered mats
and a complete set of GM seat belts. The seats and headrests are
reupholstered. It has reproduction door panels, armrests, and
handles. In front of me is an all new dash pad, instrument bezel
and heater control panel. Complete new set of SS gauges including
the tachometer, the clock is working. There's a retro stereo in the
factory slot and it's hooked to 6x9 speakers. The tilt column has a
new deluxe steering wheel. Up above, the headliner, visors, mirror,
and the dome light are new. It does have the addition of an oil
pressure gauge mounted neatly below the dash because it was not
part of the SS gauges. There's a pouch in the glove box with a new
owner's manual.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is restored and detailed like new. The
correct 396-350 hp motor has a Chevy bowtie aluminum intake, a new
670 Holley carb and a set of Hooker headers. Then there's the
complete cowl induction system, the cherry on top! It features
power steering which looks new including the steering box, lines,
and rag joint. It has power brakes with new master cylinder and
cadmium plated booster. The alternator, wiper motor, fan shroud
look new. All the metal surfaces are neatly painted with a smooth
finish. It's complete right down to the reproduction hoses and
clamps, Delco battery topper with spring clamp cables, hood
insulation and the squirters are hooked up.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted
smooth and glossy like the car. Inside is dry clean metal with a
gray spatter finish. It has reproduction weatherstrip and trunk
mat. It is complete with a painted SS wheel and a reproduction jack
assembly.
UNDERSIDE: It has been body off frame restored and detailed to
factory specs. It has the F-41 suspension, which includes boxed
rear control arms, front and rear swaybars. All the steering and
suspension has been rebuilt: springs, shocks, balljoints, bushings
etc. The brake system has been restored. It has disc in front, new
lines, hoses, and e-brake cables. The dual exhaust has great
sounding Flowmaster mufflers with the correct SS tips coming out
the back. The fuel system was replaced including the tank and
lines. Looking up at the motor it is fresh Chevy Orange, the fuel
pump starter and flywheel cover look new. The turbo 400 automatic
trans also looks fresh. It has a restored driveshaft and in back is
a correct 12 bolt rear end. Looking up at the floors they're all
dry clean metal painted satin black. It has all been nicely
detailed right down to the assembly line markings.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and replaced the carb with a 670
Holley, cleaned the reverse light sockets and headlight
connections, fixed blower switch, recalibrated the speedometer,
repaired the interior door pull, installed new BFG tires and new
15x7 SS wheels.
Very nicely detailed, fresh looking car top to bottom. Ready to
cruise with your head held high!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
