This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS is powered by the original
matching-numbers DZ 302/290hp V8 engine coupled to the original
matching-numbers Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. Power runs to
the original matching-numbers 12-bolt rear axle with posi-traction
and 3.73-gear ratio. This Camaro features a highly detailed engine
compartment and all-original sheet metal, except for the trunk pan.
It also is equipped with a Rally Sport package, M21 transmission,
disc brakes and power steering. It features several factory-code
order options on the exterior, including a special ducted hood,
spoiler equipment, tinted glass, a vinyl top and a
remote-controlled mirror. Repainted in 2014, it sports the original
color combination of show-quality Cortez Silver paint, black
stripes, black vinyl top and a Parchment houndstooth deluxe
interior. The car features a deluxe interior, featuring a center
console, a tilt steering column, a wood steering wheel, special
instrumentation, an AM/FM radio and deluxe seat belts. According to
the NCRS Shipping Data Report, this car was produced on March 7,
1969, and was shipped to Fletcher Motor Co. in Fletcher, NC. This
car was IAAA-certified by Jerry MacNeish prior to the 2012
restoration and was certified again in 2013. At the 2014 Camaro
Nationals, the car scored 992 of 1,000 possible points and achieved
Gold Level. The judging sheet also indicates it was approved for
the Legends Class in 2015. This Camaro also achieved the 2015 ISCA
Outstanding Restored award.
