Vehicle Description
This original 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL roadster is powered by a
2.8-liter SOHC inline-6 engine producing 160bhp at 5,700 rpm and
backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission. Finished in a white
exterior, it's complemented by a Chocolate Brown interior that
features several options, including air conditioning, a
period-correct Becker Europa push-button AM/FM radio and a single
exterior mirror. Recent work performed includes a complete repaint,
wet-sanding and buffing of the exterior. The hardtop was fully
restored with new wood, rechromed hardware and a new headliner, and
was painted to match the car. Professionals rebuilt the head,
installed new gaskets, replaced the sub-frame mounts, replaced the
brake booster, flushed and bled the brake system, rebuilt the rear
calipers, replaced the rear soft brake line, installed a new
voltage regulator, detailed the undercarriage and installed a new
exhaust system with hangers and tips. This California car is from
the final year of production for what became known as the "Pagoda"
model. With limited ownership, the sale includes a soft-top, a
fully restored hardtop, an original pouch with an assortment of
manuals, a parts catalog and past service invoice. ** PREVIEW
