Vehicle Description
Known as "Blue Shadow," this 1956 Ford F-100 custom pickup is
equipped with a Ford Lightning 5.8-liter V8 engine with Inglese
8-stack fuel injection, Ford Performance T5 manual transmission and
a modified chassis. As the original VIN indicates, this example was
built at the Chicago, IL, factory as an F-100 model with a 238ci
V8. It was built by Bob Pierce of BP Customs and Rods in
Connecticut. It earned the Builders Choice Award and Designers Pick
at the Goodguys East Coast Nationals. The two awards are included
with the sale. Since completion it's only been driven 115 miles, as
it was trailered to most shows and events. Everything on the truck
was restored or replaced to high show-quality standards. The body
is extremely straight with excellent panel fitment. The customized
tilt-forward hood and doors open very nicely. It was refinished in
Volkswagen Shadow Blue with DuPont ChromaBase products. The paint
has been detailed to a brilliant shine and ceramic-coated with
Gtechniq Serum Ultra. The front windshield, side vents, side
windows and rear window were replaced with new Hehr tinted glass.
It's equipped with modern headlights, LED taillights and an LED
third brake light fabricated into the rear cab. It's been outfitted
with Billet Specialties Heritage 20-inch polished wheels and Falken
tires. The smooth bed inner panels were painted and enhanced with
stainless hardware, oak floors and stainless slats. The Ford
embossed tailgate is supported with chrome hinges and latches. The
interior dash was slightly modified by incorporating Vintage Air
system controls and side vents. The cabin was painted the body
color to match the exterior. The headliner and sun visors were
upholstered in tan cloth. The custom kick panels, door panels and
bench seat were upholstered in soft brown leather. The floors are
covered with custom brown carpeting and molded floor mats. Some of
the interior custom features include LED lighting, rearview mirror,
Classic Instruments Retro black gauges, Flaming River tilt steering
column with billet levers, Flaming River Banjo steering wheel,
Specialty power windows, power door locks, power seat, billet door
handles, chrome shifter with matching leather boot, seat belts and
Custom Autosound Secertaudio SST with remote control that flips
down from under the dash. The painted engine compartment is highly
detailed throughout. The smoothed firewall showcases a Ford
embossed logo and the inner fenders are covered with aluminum
panels. The truck's rebuilt Ford Lighting engine runs excellent and
was upgraded with a roller cam and Ford Racing GT40 aluminum heads.
It is also equipped with an Inglese Intake and 8-stack fuel
injection system with Fast Fuel management. The engine is dressed
with high-quality Profile aluminum valve covers and Billet
Specialties Tru Trac pulley system. Some other upgrades include a
Ford Racing starter, MSD ignition system, Billet Specialties
alternator and power steering reservoir. The engine is cooled by a
Griffith aluminum radiator with a SPAL electric fan and breathes
through ceramic-coated headers and a ceramic-coated dual exhaust
system with polished Borla mufflers. The engine is coupled to a
Ford Performance Super Duty T5 manual transmission with hydraulic
clutch. The power is transferred to the Ford Mustang GT
posi-traction rear end with 3.27 gears. The undercarriage is highly
detailed throughout. The original chassis was modified for
additional strength and to accommodate the upgraded parts. It's
equipped with a Heidts Mustang IFS front end with power rack &
pinion steering and a 4-link rear end with QA1 coilovers. The
Wilwood braking system consists of 6-pistion red calipers with
14-inch drilled rotors on the front and red calipers with 12.88
