Vehicle Description
This 1968 Ford Mustang "Bullitt" re-creation began its life as an
original S-Code GT, according to its Marti Report. Power comes from
a period-correct 390ci Hi-Po V8 engine paired with a 5-speed manual
transmission and backed by a 9-inch rear end. The engine
compartment is period-correct and highly detailed, right down to
the factory decals, and also features power front disc brakes,
power steering and single dual-exhaust tips. Originally in Acapulco
Blue, this example underwent a professional restoration and is now
correct in replicating all the unique nuances of both Bullitt cars
used in the movie, from the Highland Green exterior to its red
oxide primer underside. The exterior features functional
hood-mounted turn signals, lower rocker molding, body-matched
painted side marker bezels, and a rear tail panel and rear gas cap
that are blacked out. The fender and grille emblems, exterior
antenna, dual-exhaust rear valance and passenger side mirror have
been removed. The only deviation from the movie car are the
"Eleanor"-style forged wheels. The interior is factory-correct,
from the cosmetics and trim to the tachometer redline, and features
a fold-down rear seat and upper console. The deluxe interior
includes wood-grain accents, a clock, a radio and a painted 3-spoke
steering wheel with the GT500 center cap. The sale includes a
Certificate of Authenticity, a professionally assembled
Bullitt/Steve McQueen movie wall display with many photos
(including a photo of the chase scene) and prop plates, as well as
an authentic signature of Steve McQueen. **TITLED AS 1968 FORD
