Vehicle Description
This one-of-one-built 2012 Factory Five Type 65 Coupe is powered by
a 7.0-liter FE427 big-block V8 engine with an estimated 520+hp
featuring Edelbrock aluminum heads, Borla stacked fuel injection,
Haltech fuel management, an aluminum water pump, dual electric fans
and a Bosch Extreme Pro fuel pump. This car is also equipped with
an Accusump 3-quart dry sump oil system, a Canton 8-quart oil pan,
a three-row aluminum radiator, 22-gallon fuel cell with internal
splash box, a high-torque starter and an MSD ignition.
Additionally, it features Flaming River 16:1 steering with helm
joints and bump steer, tubular control arms, coilover adjustable
gas shocks with Watts link and a 4-link system with adjustable
control arms. Other options include a heavy-duty scatter shield, a
Doug Nash 5-speed manual transmission with a hydraulic Centerforce
clutch, custom headers. Bringing everything to a halt is a Wilwood
braking system with 4-wheel drilled and slotted discs, 6-piston
calipers up front and 4-piston calipers in back. The rear end is
Ford 8.8 with 3.08 ratio gears and limited-slip, with a 6-point
roll cage. A full composite body makes this a very light car with
premium fittings, aluminum panels and braided hoses throughout.
This coupe was professionally built by Vintage Motorsports, won
Best Design at Factory Five's Open House two years in a row and
includes three binders full of build documentation and dozens of
pictures. It is street legal, has never been raced and has no
