Vehicle Description
This matching-numbers 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport is powered by a
425ci V8 engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission with a
3.42 posi-traction rear end. The engine features dual-quad
carburetors, aluminum valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. The
exterior features a rechromed front, bumpers, valance and other
parts; working clamshell headlights and Gran Sport badging. It also
has a purse clip, polished stainless-steel trim throughout, ribbed
rocker molding, Soft Ray factory-tinted glass and a complete spare
tire with a jack. This car retains its original engine and was born
with an LX-code, VIN-matching engine and an original BS-coded
switch-pitch SP400 transmission. This Gran Sport has stock original
Rally wheels and whitewall tires. The deluxe interior is equipped
with additional features that include an aftermarket AM/FM radio
with power antenna (with the original radio included), along with
Buick floor mats, a tilt steering column, power windows,
period-correct aftermarket air conditioning, quick-ratio steering,
a Buick trunk mat and a rear-seat center armrest. The car has been
owned and maintained by a collector for the past 14 years. Prior to
that, it was owned by the same family since new. This Riviera Gran
Sport is registered in Connecticut, was there from 2010 to 2017 and
has been in California since then. The late Dick Sweeney, a
recognized 1965 Riviera Gran Sport expert from the Riviera Owners
Club and Buick Club, inspected this car and confirmed that it is an
original, stock Gran Sport, as said in a 2012 e-mail included in
the sale. This car also comes with the original owner's manual and
Protect-O-Plate. ** PREVIEW
