Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this 1967 Cadillac
Eldorado. This triple-black beauty is a stunning example of this
historic year for Cadillac. In 1967 the Eldorado was radically
redesigned as a front-wheel-drive hardtop coupe that Cadillac
promoted as a personal luxury car. Its angular, crisp styling was a
hit with the public and resulted in sales of 17,930 units - 3 times
the previous Eldorado high - helping give Cadillac its best year up
to that point in history. The black paint on this Eldorado looks
like a well-done respray that was done some time ago but is still
in good driver-quality condition. A chrome hood spine leads your
eye to a brightly colored Cadillac crest at the forward end of the
hood above the grille. The silver and black egg-crate grille
stretches from side to side and features flip-down doors that hide
the dual side-by-side headlights. This is the first and only
Cadillac model with the headlights concealed behind moveable covers
(2 years only 1967-8). Beneath is a large and gleaming chrome
bumper with an extension of the grille in the center and integrated
turn signals toward the sides. A side view offers a look at the
long straight sides of the car enhanced by quite a bit of shining
brightwork like wheel lip molding, rocker molding, door edge
guards, window trim, driver side mirror, door handles, and
"ELDORADO" fender badging. The black vinyl top is in excellent
condition and it features Cadillac crest badges just behind the
rear windows. The wheel and tire combination adds to the opulent
exterior with steel wheels topped with 7-slot Cadillac logo caps
all wrapped in American Classic white-wall tires. The stars of the
show at the rear of this Eldorado are definitely chrome-trimmed
blade-like fins with vertical taillights. Beneath is a chrome
bumper with integrated reverse lights that angle underneath the car
and meet up with the rear rocker molding in the back. The trunk
offers another Cadillac crest badge that doubles as a cover for the
trunk keyhole. Just beneath that is a centered lift-up door for the
gas fill.
Under the big black hood is a tidy stock engine bay that houses
what we believe to be the original 429ci V-8 mated up to a TH425
automatic transmission that puts power to the front wheels. This
front-wheel drive format (known as the "unified powerplant
package") was introduced a year earlier in the Oldsmobile Toronado
and then adopted by Cadillac. Having front-wheel drive means that
there is no transmission tunnel hump in the interior, allowing for
a more spacious cabin feel. The V-8 is topped off with blue
"Cadillac" valve covers, a 4-barrel carburetor, and a black air
cleaner. The exhaust runs through cast manifolds to a single exit
pipe at the rear. Other highlights under the hood include power
steering, power brakes (disc/drum) with a newer-looking reservoir,
and working factory air conditioning.
Open the long driver's door to reveal a beautiful black interior
illuminated by under-dash courtesy lights. The door panels are a
mix of black vinyl, black carpet, and bright trim and they feature
dual front and back handles, power locks, power windows, and a
toggle for the driver's side mirror. An exceptionally nice,
power-adjustable, re-covered black leather bench seat with a
fold-down armrest invites you in for a comfortable ride. The rear
seat is in similarly good condition and rear seat passengers have a
switch for the lights on the C-pillars. Another rear seat extra are
the side windows that retract sideways into the C-pillars instead
of sliding down into the body panel - a very cool feature. The
crack-free dash is home to a stylish chrome-trimmed recessed
instrument panel. Within the panel are a 120mph speedometer,
working temperature and fuel gauges, an analog clock (inop.),
controls for the working 2-speed wipers, controls for the
auto-dimming lights, a unique dial-operated cruise control (we have
not tried to see if it works), an automatic climate control system
with cold A/C and hot heat, and the original AM/FM radio (inop.).
Beneath the radio is a pull-out hishers ashtray with a lighter.
Mounted under the dash is a working Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo for
your cruisin tunes. The odometer reads 89,578 miles and that is the
actual mileage per the title. The driver is treated to a 3-spoke
black steering wheel with a Cadillac crest mounted on a tilt and
telescopic column with a column shifter for the transmission.
Directly ahead of the front passenger is a glovebox that contains
an owner's manual, a stereo manual, and a remote for the stereo.
Underfoot is black carpet that's kept nice with double-wide
carpeted logo floormats in both the front and rear and overhead is
a tight black vinyl headliner. Around the back of the fully
carpeted trunk, you'll find a spare tire with a carpeted cover.
If you're a fan of Cadillacs or just a lover of large luxury
cruisers, you are going to love this slick triple-black Eldorado!
This car is a perfect combination of beautiful styling,
cutting-edge features and conveniences, and absolute comfort. This
Eldorado is ready to hit the road anywhere and do it with the style
that Cadillac has always been known for - all it needs is a new
owner in the driver's seat! Give our friendly staff a call and get
to be the lucky one in that seat!
