Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is excited to offer this awesome piece of TV
history; 1983 Pontiac Knight Rider KITT trans am replica for sale
in our Mesa, AZ showroom. Knight Rider, which premiered on NBC on
September 26, 1982, would run for 84 episodes over four seasons and
generate an obscene amount of money in merchandising, from toy cars
to t-shirts to lunch boxes. It would also make an international
superstar out of David Hasselhoff. Hasselhoff and his character,
Michael Knight, instantly became household names, but the real star
was the show's indestructible self-driving black Pontiac Trans Am,
the one with the annoying voice and the stoic sense of humor. The
Knight Industries Two Thousand, or KITT for short, was more
sidekick than transport. And it went fast, did big smoky donuts,
and performed jumps like the Dukes of Hazzard as the two fought for
weekly truth and justice.
This is the slipperiest Firebird design ever, and so it's only
fitting that this coupe wears a slick black lacquer that could look
wet even in a desert. This is a rapidly appreciating collector's
car, and so it's nice to see the previous owner has gone to great
lengths to keep the body and its original shade of midnight in
pristine condition. But a car like this was made for more than just
being parked as garage art, everyone will love this at a local car
show!
It has a complete KITT interior from the dash to the steering wheel
and both upper and lower consoles. The interior is fully wired and
all the prop lights function, the digital gauges not only light up
but are functional as well, including the speedometer. Has the
correct KITT nose with red light-bar and taillight blackout with a
reproduction license plate. Concealed inside the car is a stereo
with detachable speakers that play numerous KITT verses loudly
outside the car for when on display. The interior is original and
correct. With the new dash installed, the odometer is no longer
visible, believed to be 90K. T-Tops are fully functional as
well.
It's powered by a 5.0-liter 8-cylinder engine paired with an
automatic transmission. It features 15-inch turbo cast wheels and
bowling ball hubcaps, a complete 3/4-season dash and console with
electronics, screen-accurate scanner and blackout, and an iPad
display screen. This replica comes with a KNIGHT license plate
signed by David Hasselhoff and William Daniels. Underneath the
trunk lid, there are two signatures as well, one is Bob Bralver
(stuntman) and the second one is Hasselhoff. This will also come
with a life size cardboard cutout of Hasselhoff and "Knight of
Phoenix" script.
This car is a real head-turner, and you will continuously get
compliments wherever it's seen. Call us today if you are ready to
