Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1997 Dodge Viper GTS
for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. During the 1990's, the
Dodge Viper was literally a beast with no leash. Produced from 1991
to 2017 under five generations, the Viper was equivalent to skilled
driving. The Viper was a distant successor to the Cobra. The second
gen Viper was produced from 1996-2002, the GTS and RT/10 editions.
This is 1 of 1671 built.
The Viper was a sensation when it launched in 1991. It looked,
sounded and drove like nothing else. It was 1997 that marked the
second year of the model's second-generation, which finally added
such creature comforts as air-conditioning, power windows and power
locks as standard equipment.
The exterior is finished in Viper GTS Blue (PBE) with Stone White
(QW1) racing stripes that run down the entire length of the car.
Exterior details include a chrome fuel filler cap, a heated rear
window, projector-style headlights, fog lights, a vented hood,
integrated rear spoiler, and dual Corsa Mopar exhaust outlets. She
rolls on Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 275/40R17 up front
and 335/35R17's out back. The 17" five-spoke cast aluminum polished
wheels are all in excellent shape. Braking is handled by four-wheel
ventilated discs with Viper branded calipers.
The bolstered bucket seats are trimmed in black leather and are
joined by a color-matching dashboard, center console, door panels,
and shift knob. Appointments include an Alpine CD stereo, air
conditioning, adjustable pedals, power windows, and dual airbags.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer and
a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges for coolant
temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage are mounted atop
the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 13,003 miles.
This beast of a 1997 Dodge Viper GTS comes with a completely
original and un-modified 8.0L Viper V10 engine coupled with a
glorious 6-speed manual transmission. The 8.0-liter was factory
rated at 450 horsepower and 490 lb. ft of torque. Power is sent to
the rear through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission with
overdrive and a limited slip differential.
The Viper GTS will be sold on a clean Arizona title with receipts,
copy of original title, owner's manual, Viper car cover, two sets
of keys, and window sticker. CarFax shows no accidents, and three
previous owners. Call Classic Car Addict today at 480-256-1459.
