Description:
This 1995 Ferrari F355 is one of 108 Challenge models produced and
was first sold by Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley, New York.
The car was campaigned in the late 1990s and early 2000s and driven
at COTA, Mont Tremblant, and Road America. Power comes from a
3.5-liter quad-cam V8 that is paired with a six-speed manual
gearbox. The car is finished in red and equipped with Cobra seats
and OMP harnesses, a fire suppression system, a roll cage, a MOMO
steering wheel, AutoMeter instrumentation, a fixed rear wing, and
18? Speedline wheels. This F355 Challenge has a clean Colorado
title.
Interior:
The cockpit houses Cobra Imola Pro-Fit racing seats and OMP
harnesses that were fitted in 2014. A roll cage, a fire suppression
system, engine and battery cut-off switches, and an aluminum center
tunnel with a gated shifter are also equipped. A quick-release Momo
steering wheel frames AutoMeter instruments including a rotated
tachometer with a shift light and readouts for oil pressure and
coolant temperature. Oil temperature and fuel gauges are mounted in
the aluminum center console along with a counter showing
approximately 269 engine hours. Total mileage is unknown.
Exterior:
The Challenge featured a rear wing and a black mesh rear grille as
well as solid suspension bushings and competition springs. The car
was finished from the factory in Rosso Corsa and was repainted in
2008. The front end was repainted under previous ownership, and
street lighting has been added.
Drivetrain:
The 3.5-liter dry-sump V8 features a Bosch Motronic ignition
system, five valves per cylinder, and dual overhead camshafts. A
Tec3r engine management system was installed in 2008, engine
rebuilds were performed in November 2008 and March 2014, and the
V-belt and alternator were replaced in 2015. Results of a
compression test performed in preparation for the sale can be
viewed in the image gallery below. Power is sent to the rear wheels
via a six-speed manual transaxle. The clutch was replaced in 2014,
and the mufflers and brackets were coated with Jet-Hot in 2015. A
replacement CV boot was installed in 2018. Five-spoke 18? Speedline
wheels are finished in black and mounted with 225/40 front and
265/40 rear Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Braking is
handled by Brembo calipers paired with 14? slotted rotors, and
H&R springs have been installed.
