Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to offer this
original looking 1951 Ford F1, finished in a bright orange. The
1951 Ford pickup introduced a new front end, and long gone were the
smiling horizontal-bar grille and inboard headlamps, replaced by a
single-bar grille with three massive "teeth." Along with a
wraparound front bumper, this gave Ford trucks a more aggressive
frontal appearance. Under the hood is the correct 239 CID V8 8BA
flathead engine. It has a single 2-barrel carburetor on top, an old
"Oil Bath" air cleaner, aluminum radiator & electric fan up front,
and a 3-speed manual transmission and a 3.92 rear axle to turn the
tires. The cabin features a folding bench seat trimmed in gray
cloth upholstery with gray vinyl trim with matching door panels.
Metal surfaces are finished in body color and equipment includes an
AM/FM/Bluetooth radio and hand-crank side windows. A black
three-spoke steering wheel fronts instrumentation that includes a
90-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, water
temperature, battery voltage and fuel level. The five-digit
odometer shows just over 2300 miles, although true mileage is
unknown. This is the first-gen Ford F-Series that respects its
history while also being a strong cruiser.
