Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
2002 AM General M1123. The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled
Vehicle (HMMWV), better known as the Humvee, was a series of
lightweight military trucks and utility vehicles. When the army
opened a contract to create an updated generation of multipurpose
utility vehicles, Chrysler Defense and Teledyne Continental both
produced a design, but AM General won the contract with the HMMWV.
These military vehicles were built in a wide array of body styles
and specifications depending on their intended task, and were
available with a range of V8 engines, yet all were built with a 4x4
drivetrain. Exterior features include a front brush guard, front
and rear took hooks and LED headlights and light bar. Power comes
from a 6.5-liter diesel V8, rated at about 165 horsepower and 290
lb-ft of torque. It spins all four wheels via a 4-speed automatic
transmission, a 2-speed transfer case, and portal axles. This
Humvee is sporting a tow package, 4-wheel independent suspension
with 4-wheel disk brakes and looks aggressive sitting on a set of
16.5" wheels wrapped in 37x12.5 GoodYear Wrangler M&T Tires.
The interior houses front and rear captain's chairs along with a
green dashboard, and floors. A rare feature in the rear is the
addition of a cold blowing ProTecht air conditioning system. The
three-spoke steering wheel fronts instrumentation consists of a
60-mph speedometer, oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature
and battery voltage. These are all-wheel-drive vehicles designed to
handle the rugged, offroad terrain during combat situations and
will handle anything you can throw at it.
