Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
1996 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 w/T-tops! Debuting all the way
back in 1967, Pontiac unveiled the Firebird, a competent pony car,
brother to the Camaro and fellow competitor to the well-known and
mighty Ford Mustang. The Firebird would see many changes over the
years, but one thing is for certain, they all looked good. The
Firebird would see 4 generations that would span 35 years. For
Formulas and Trans Am's in '96, functional dual inlet "Ram Air"
hoods returned as part of the WS6 performance package, as well as
upgraded shocks & suspension springs and bushings, larger
roll-bars, 17" wheels and the dual oval exhaust tips. This T/A is
powered by a healthy 5.7-liter V8 linked to a Tremec T56 6-speed
manual transmission with a new Competition clutch, limited-slip
differential and WS6 Ram Air Performance and Handling Package. The
car is finished in Bright Red and features removable glass roof
panels. Additional equipment includes a rear spoiler, Ram Air hood,
a power antenna, pop-up headlights, fog lights, and dual exhaust
outlets. The interior is upholstered in black leather bucket seats
with a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, carpets, and
door panels. The interior amenities include a Pioneer radio, a
short throw shifter, air conditioning, cruise control, remote
keyless entry, bolstered front seats, and power accessories. Chrome
Corvette style 17" alloy wheels are mounted with 275/40s on all
four corners and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes came standard.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel fronts a 155-mph
speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary gauges that include
oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery voltage and fuel level.
The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just under 127k Carfax
reported miles. These cars are growing rapidly amongst collectors
and this one will certainly be a fine addition!
