Historic Dragster comes with an amazing story of restoration and
resurrection. The Martin & Smith Dragster was commissioned, owned
and driven by Ron Martin out of Blue Springs, MO and wrenched on
along with his crew chief Bob "Cowboy" Smith of Kansas City, MOThe
dragster was raced in NHRA Division 5 and AHRA events wearing the
number 515 throughout the Midwest. The car was originally built by
Bill Beeman in 1968 as a Top Gas dragster and won 4 consecutive
events in Denver, CO between 1969 to 1971 before being upgraded to
185" and refitted to run in the TOP Fuel class in Kansas by Harold
Wilson.This FE Dragsters best recorded ET and MPH of 6.48 sec at
223 MPH beating Gary Beck at Twin Cities Dragway in Marion, SDThis
