Remarkably beautiful car that I bought for my wife on her 45th birthday. Since then, we have driven it primarily during summers near our Cape Cod residence where it has been garaged indoors since its purchase. This was one of the very first Jag XK8s shipped to our area--which explains why we were able to get the JAG XK8 license plate. The color combination is unbeatable--evidence by the numerous people on the street who wave us us down to compliment the car's classic beauty whenever we drive through town. Despite our affection for this old companion, we recognized that we now rarely take it out for a spin because our arthritic hips make entry and exit challenging (the car is holding up far better than our aging bodies). Our daughter has moved to another state so now, the the car only gets driven when she visits.
The convertible top works perfectly and has a new headliner. Tires were replaced several years back (less than 5,000 miles on them). There is only one flaw which is a cosmetic crack in the burled wood around the gear shift. Otherwise, this much-loved Jaguar is about as perfect as 27-year old car can be. We have gone back and forth on selling it, but have been feeling guilty--somebody deserves to be driving this fine machine and enjoying its beautiful design and performance. Keeping it stowed in our garage just doesn't feel right.
