For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Corvette in Sonora, California

Vehicle Description

1972 Chevrolet Corvette Couple.  T-Tops, 502 GM Crate Motor (500 hp), built Turbo 400, PS, PDB, AC (blows cold), removable back window, luggage rack.  Based on what I was told when I bought the car, and what I have observed since, including inspection on a lift, and a professional inspection by a Corvette restorer, this car had a frame-off restoration about 12 years ago, and has been driving about 1,000 miles since.  Virtually everything is new: springs, aftermarket sway bars F&R, all stainless brake & fuel lines + stainless brackets, stainless exhaust system, rebuilt differential, new U-joints on driveline and half-shafts, new brakes, new hoses, MSD ignition, Holley carb on Edelbrock intake, serpentine belt system, polished alternator & AC compressor, HydraTech power brake booster (doesn't use vacuum), KYB shocks all around, headlight door vacuum actuators + all fittings & lines, aluminum radiator & 2 electric fans, engine oil cooler, stainless headers & more.  C4 seats, big retro stereo & speakers.  New 15" Cragars and new

It runs and drives great.  FAST!!!!!  Starts right up, doesn't run hot, tracks straight, doesn't pull, smooth ride, solid car.  Everything in the engine bay, and underneath the car look incredible!  Everything looks new and well put together, which was confirmed by Sierra Auto Restoration, a Corvette specialist in Sonora CA.  I've entered it in a few car shows this summer and won 3 trophies with it.  The paint job is not quite show-quality.  It looks great from 5 feet away, but close up, very close up, you can see a few minor blemishes here and there.  The carpet kit in the rear luggage area wasn't properly installed, and looks like it was cut too short in places.  It's not bad, but I'm just being honest.  They car show judges didn't seem to mind.  Everything works.  Don't compare this car to all the other chrome-bumper C3s on the market.  Most are not done, original maybe, but everything would have to be replaced or rebuilt to get most of them to where this car is today.  Whoever did the restoration on this car started with a car like the other ones you're probably looking at.  You can buy a decent driver-quality 1972-or-earlier C3 Corvette for $35-40K.  But what would it cost to do a frame-off resto, drop a new 502 Crate motor and a built T400, serpentine, Hydrotech, new suspension, new brakes, new stainless exhaust & headers, new wheels & tires, and on and on.  My estimate is around $120K to replicate this car.  $75K is a steal.

Call me with questions, or for more details, more pictures, etc.  I have a lift here, so if you come to see it we can put it up in the air.  I can put you in touch with the Corvette restorer who I've had inspect and service it since I've owned it.  It's probably the best Corvette you're looking at for the price.  It really turns heads!
