Vehicle Description
The fourth generation Corvette was introduced for the 1984 model
year and soldiered on for thirteen model years until it was
replaced with the C5 Corvette in 1997. While the basic shape
remained the same, it could be said that the 1984 Corvette and 1996
Corvette were almost two different cars. During its long run, the
C4 went through a myriad of mechanical, interior, and exterior
upgrades. The final iteration of the C4 Corvette from 1994 to 1996
are considered to be the absolute best C4's to own and drive as
they possess all the improvements from thirteen years of
refinements, including ASR traction control, ABS brakes,
analog/digital gages, and dual airbags. The 1994 Corvette for sale
here is finished in Bright Red over black leather buckets and has
chrome plated ZR-1 style five spoke wheels. The paint is in amazing
condition for being almost 30 years old, and the blue tinted
acrylic roof panel is removeable for open air motoring and stores
in the rear hatch area. Inside this Corvette is well optioned with
dual power leather bucket seats, power windows, locks, and mirrors,
automatic climate control, and the BOSE/Delco Gold series
AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo. Under the hood is the LT1 5.7L Series II
small block V-8. This is the second generation of the venerable
small block Chevrolet V-8 and can trace its roots all the way back
to that original 265CI V-8 of 1955. This hot small block features
factory aluminum cylinder heads, sequential fuel injection, revised
intake manifold, unique Optispark ignition, and 10.5:1 compression
to develop 300 horsepower and 340 lb. ft. of torque. This makes for
low 5 second 0-60mph times, sub 14 second quarter mile times, and a
top speed somewhere north of 160mph. On this Corvette, the power is
routed through a ZF built 6-speed manual transmission and a 3.45:1
Dana 44 heavy duty rear axle. The suspension is fully independent
lightweight aluminum at all four wheels with Delco/Bilstein shock
absorbers, and in concert with the 275mm front and 315mm rear tread
width make this Corvette stick to the road like it was glued down.
You will run out of bravery long before you run out of cornering
grip in this Corvette. When you do need to reign in the horses, 12
ventilated disc brakes at all four corners are just a press of the
pedal away. This Corvette is ready to go and could be used for
pleasure or even daily transportation. The seats have been recently
recovered and look amazing, and all the interior plastics and
console lid are new. All accessories are functional, and the air is
nice and cold. The only thing this Corvette needs is a new driver
