and documented 1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited. Finished in original
Natural White over Oak leather this third generation 4Runner shows
decently over all considering it is up for historic plates this
year and is approaching the 200K mile club. Mileage is generally
not a concern as this generation of 4Runner is well known for going
350-400K miles without skipping a beat even with subpar
maintenance. Powered by the venerable Toyota 5VZ-FE 3400 Series 3.4
Liter Dual Overhead Cam 24 Valve six-cylinder engine mated to a
4-speed automatic transmission with 4WD and dual range transfer
case. Standard features and options include AM/FM/CD/Cassette
stereo with a 6-disc changer, automatic climate control, power
sunroof, factory hitch roof rack and power-operated rear
window.
With only three owners from new this vehicle has been well cared
for and documented and it shows - a three-ring binder of service
history from the current owner accompanies the vehicle. The
interior is original and very tidy, driver's seat bolster shows
wear and could use a stitch. Known issues for this generation of
4Runner have been sorted and preventatively addressed including but
not limited to: Timing Belt Service (done @153k miles); Water Pump;
Radiator; Lower Ball Joints; Spark Plugs, Valve Cover Gaskets; and
a new Gas Tank. There are MANY miles and years left in this rig for
someone to conquer new frontiers and adventures.
The market on the 3rd Generation 4Runner remains strong with
well-kept, low mileage examples continuing to gain traction as they
become more and more rare. The 4Runner starts right up, drives
nicely as it has not been lifted and goes down the road with ease.
There is some rust starting on the rear hatch door as shown in the
photos and the frame has been boxed in a couple spots as a
preventative measure. This 4Runner comes with two sets of wheels
(Nokian Snow Tires on Tacoma Snowflake Wheels and Original Five
Star Wheels with General Grabber A/T Tires), original owner's
manual, two keys + valet key and service history from the current
owner.
