The 356 is one of my most favorite cars of all time, from the
classic out of the box styling that you still see today in Porsche
sports cars. They were basically built in three different
generations, the A,B and C. The final year SC, the "S" meaning
Super which translates to a whopping 95 HP. Does not seem like much
but you will never have more fun driving a slow car fast, I
promise. This fantastic example is a CA car up until last summer
when the current owner purchased this car from out West from a
family that owned the car for over 34 years! It was built February
8th, 1965 and sold new by Competition Motors of Culver City, CA.
The first owner based on title transfer records owned the car for
22 years before being purchased in 1987 by a gentleman in La Verne,
where he decided to do a light sympathetic refurbishment. The car
itself has gone through some hardships like an overheated engine,
that was re-built using all Porsche parts, a very minor front end
collision, that was repaired properly, This car is believed to be
all original including engine and transmission and all body panels.
There is a lot of paperwork with lots of money spent over the
years. The Glasurit enamel paint still shows excellent, the leather
interior is gorgeous, There is has been several large scale
mechanical items done with receipts in the last couple of years.
The only thing I find to be not original are the wheels, I believe
these to be 1968 912 wheels. Anyway, this car is in unbelievable
running and driving condition that looks absolutely superb. We
encourage any questions or inspections and is located in our
Traverse City Showroom.
