Melanson Motors is proud to offer this 1931 Ford Five Window Coupe. Every piece of this car was built right and with attention to detail. The car is comfortable to drive and performs very well! This Hot Rod started with a Henry Ford steel body brought to Canada from California. The roof opening was filled with a metal panel and the body was dropped on a brand new frame manufactured by JW Rod Chassis and built in the USA. The front fenders are steel. The only fiberglass on the car are the rear fenders and hood top The panel fit is excellent with good and consistent gaps. The Nightwatch Blue paint is a base/clear and is excellent. The color is a deep blue/violet that almost looks black.
This car features a 350 cubic inch engine with ceramic coated Sanderson headers, Edelbrock E-Street aluminum heads, polished valve covers, Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminum intake manifold, and a 750cfm Holley Brawler carburetor. The engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The transmission is a TH350 3 speed automatic. The rear end is a Ford 9 inch with Moser axles and 3.55 True Trac gears. The rear suspension is a triangulated 4-link with Carrera coil springs. This hot rod has four wheel power disc brakes and stops on a dime. The undercarriage is nicely detailed and painted black. The exhaust system is 2.5" mandrel bent pipes with stainless steel Borla mufflers.
The interior is stunning! It is all new and in excellent condition. The custom bucket seats and door panels are tobacco color vinyl. The carpet is new and tobacco color. The headliner is a soft suede and tobacco color. The interior features an Ididit tilt steering column, power windows, a New Vintage USA gauge cluster, an autometer tachometer, a three spoke steering wheel, chrome electric wiper motor, and more!
The car rides on 15x4.5 American Racing Torque Thrust wheels up front and 15x7 in the rear. The front tires are 165/80 Invovic while the rears are 225/75 Firestone Destinations.
