Gateway classic cars of Nashville is pleased to digitally present
to you this 2006 Chevrolet Corvette C17 Calloway. The company's
17th "C-Project". In February 2006, Callaway returned to its
positive manifold pressure roots, introducing Callaway
"SuperCharged" Corvettes. Moving from the famous turbocharged C4
design to the Roots-style supercharger for 2006, the new design
offered improved durability, easier maintenance, emission
compliance, and instant off-idle power. Covered in a gloss black
with a silver stripe this Corvette has the look that warns others
to beware. This Calloway Corvette is the SC616 version (616
horsepower) LS2 6.0 liter V8 but has been upgraded a little more
via long tube headers and a healthier camshaft all tuned to provide
performance and reliable daily drivability. The result is
instantaneous throttle response that has a negative effect on the
life of the rear tires. Backing this potent power plant is a Tremec
T-56 six-speed manual transmission along with a stronger holding
triple disk clutch. This gives you plenty of power off the line and
lower RPM's at cruising speed. With all this power one might think
the amenities would be in short supply, not the case with this
Corvette. You get comfort in things like leather interior, Air
conditioning, power windows, locks mirrors and cruise control.
Safety features like Anti-lock brakes, traction control and air
bags. As for performance, well Callaway has that handled already.
