tons of documentation and an inline-6 from sourced from an E34 M5,
this 1975 BMW 530i is a wolf in sheep's clothing!
Powered by a 3.6-liter S38B36 inline-six paired with a Getrag 265
five-speed manual transmission, this BMW was modified in 2019
before being acquired by the current seller. The 3.6-liter S38B36
inline-six was reportedly rebuilt by Precision Sport Industries of
Oviedo, Florida. A Bosch Motronic 2.1 engine management takes care
of the computer side of things and a 635CSi oil cooler keeps the
S38 cool. Equipped with Bilstein dampers and adjustable front and
rear sway bars, 635CSi strut housings and springs have been
installed, along with 635CSi four-wheel disc brakes. 14? BBS Mahle
wheels are wrapped in 195/70 Michelin Defender tires. Noted by the
previous owner, the Getrag 265 five-speed manual transmission was
rebuilt by Metric Mechanic in Richland, Missouri and that the rear
end is equipped with a 3.64:1 limited-slip differential and a Bosch
Motronic speed sensor. The exhaust system features E34 M5 exhaust
manifolds, stainless steel center pipes, and a Billy Boat
muffler.
The previous owner reports the body was refinished in the factory
Golf Yellow under previous ownership. A modified front spoiler and
composite rear trunk spoiler, a lightened hood and trunk lid,
yellow fog lights, a driver's mirror, and a single center-exit
exhaust outlet enhance the exterior appearance.
Slide into the interior and black cloth Scheel-Mann front seats are
installed, and the rear seats have been reupholstered to match.
Equipment includes gray wool carpeting, a replacement headliner,
R134a-converted air conditioning, wood trim, floor mats, and a
Becker Grand Prix radio. A leather-wrapped Italvolante steering
wheel frames a European-market 8k-rpm tachometer, a 635CSi 260-km/h
speedometer, and auxiliary gauges.
Sold new by World Wide of Cars in Nanuet, New York, this E12 is now
offered with service records, a window sticker, owner's manuals and
literature, and a clean Florida title.
