Now being offered at MaxMotive is this beautiful and lovingly built
1940 Ford Pickup. This fine example has been hopped up in
traditional fashion with finned Offenhauser heads and dual carbs
atop the Flathead V8 engine. A three speed manual transmission
sends the power to a Columbia Overdrive axle (shift mechanism not
currently functioning). A thick stack of build receipts shows that
details down to the horn button spring have been addressed.
Restoration photos are included. The all-steel cab, fenders, and
bed are coated in glossy gray paint augmented with beautiful chrome
throughout. The black bench seat, steering wheel, and dash look
great also. On top of the dash is an amazing and seldom seen vacuum
operated fan. Under the dash are toggles including a switch for the
electric fuel pump, which helps the engine start and run smoothly
and reliably. The exhaust tone is outstanding through the big dual
pipes. The previous owner hand built the handsome wood bed rails
with stellar results. He also installed a new horn and belts. The
tires are high quality wide whitewall radials that look and ride
great. The chrome hubcaps and trim rings provide the crowning
touch. Jewel-like chrome details and emblems adorn the entire truck
for a complete, deluxe look. This 1940 Ford pickup has been
lavished with attention, and its appearance and smooth-running
mechanicals bear witness. Please be sure to see the detailed photos
