For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Camaro in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Marking the ultimate evolution of Joel Rosen's wicked Chevrolet supercars, this 1972 Camaro received the Phase III treatment and, as now offered, it benefits handsomely from a comprehensive frame-off restoration including new NOS and OEM sheet metal to the fenders, quarter panels, trunk pan and floor pan. Refinished in striking Mulsanne Blue with the contrasting Motion Performance stripe scheme in white, as per the original specification, this awesome Camaro sports a new L88 fiberglass hood and springs, as per the original design, including stainless steel hood retaining pins.

The updated black bucket-seat interior features recently recovered seats with new foam, springs and seatbelts, plus a new three-spoke Chevrolet steering wheel, a new dash pad with rebuilt gauge cluster, and a new center console with three-piece Stewart-Warner accessory gauge package. Other restoration highlights include a new headliner, new rubber gaskets and seals around doors, trunk and T-tops, new windshield and rear glass, a new grille, new headlight bezels, rechromed front and rear bumpers with guards, new wiper arms and blades with a new wiper transmission arm and wiper motor, and a new fuel tank and sending unit.

The mighty 454 CI V-8 engine was rebuilt to original specifications, according to the Motion Performance build sheet. Highlights include ported and polished cylinder heads, a Comp Cams camshaft, updated cam bearings, pistons, valve seats, valve springs, solid lifters, intake and exhaust valves, and a rebuilt Holley carburetor. Spent combustion gases are removed via a new 2.5-inch Flowmaster exhaust system. The new Motion Performance rocker covers were purchased directly from Motion Performance. The TH400 automatic transmission was rebuilt to original specifications, according to the Motion Performance build sheet, and equipped with a Hole Shot torque converter and shift kit. Underpinnings include new big-block front coil springs, new rear leaf springs and Lakewood traction bars. Riding on a new set of Cragar SS wheels mounting BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, this muscle car legend is documented by photos of the frame-off restoration, Motion Performance build records and a Letter of Authenticity from "Mr. Motion" Joel Rosen.
