Vehicle Description
The shape and allure of a classic C3 Corvette are impossible for
almost anyone to deny. Its iconic status has inspired books, songs,
and fantasies of young children since 1953. One look at this fully
repainted red numbers-matching 1979 Chevrolet Corvette, and it is
easy to see why. The sinewy Coke bottle shape, wonderfully
practical T-top roof, and overall factory appearance of this 'Vette
let you travel back in time to the back end of the third generation
of Chevy's halo car. Inside, we find a plush light beige interior
highlighted by woodgrain trim and a flurry of classic Corvette
analog gauges. The lone outlier from the traditional setup is the
Sony CD player head unit that utilizes a JL amp and subwoofer
mounted behind the seats.
Under the hood, we find a numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V-8
topped by a single four-barrel carburetor and Holley intake. Gone
is the stock car's restrictive y-pipe, and in its place is a
sweet-sounding true-dual exhaust complete with twin Dynomax
mufflers, allowing this Vette to have the throaty voice one expects
from a car bearing the Crossed Flags emblem. Power from that small
block is funneled through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission
before being sent out to the Corvette rear.
